IBM – is one of the largest IT companies in the world. IBM Polska Sp. z o.o. has been present on the Polish market for over 20 years. The company's headquarter is located in Warsaw, with branches i.a.: in Katowice, Poznań, Wrocław and Kraków.

During a press conference, which was held in Warsaw on Tuesday, 4 June, 2013 in the headquarters of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ), IBM announced the opening of delivery center in Katowice

The new center will join IBM's strategic network of IBM delivery centers providing a wide range of IT services, including server operating systems management, security and safety systems, services for end-customers, including maintenance and monitoring of IT hardware and software systems.

Implementation of operating activities of the center is planned for August 2013.

"Selecting Katowice City for new IBM's center demonstrates our company’s continuing commitment in Poland. The new center will enable us not only to provide advanced services to our customers, but it will also help to increase economic growth and the skills needed in the whole region " said Ales Bartunek, General Manager, IBM Poland and the Baltic States. "Katowice and Silesia region offer talented human resources for the labor market, a strong academic background and a friendly business environment, which is essential for our growth" - he added.

"We have already co-operated with IBM before regarding for instance various programs in the area of corporate social responsibility, such as: the IBM Executive Service Corps. The development of IBM in Katowice is for us an event of great importance. We are extremely pleased with the fact that the decision about choosing Katowice as a location for a new service center has already been made "- said Piotr Uszok, Katowice City Mayor.
